Awo Jama is a photographer, filmmaker, and writer currently based in London, where she is pursuing a Masters in Filmmaking at London Film School. She also holds a B.A in Journalism from the University of Southern California.
Jama is constantly intrigued by the ways in which differing forms of media can communicate with and inform one another, hence her multidisciplinary approach to art. Through her work, Jama aims to foster dialogue around the subjects of race, gender identity, and mental health, in the hopes that those who come across her work feel represented and seen.
